Entrepreneurs dare to dream and then work to realize their dreams. However, converting a dream into reality is not easy. They have to work day in and out to come up with different ways to materialize their idea, find a team and train them to work with equal passion as their own. Entrepreneurs also have a busy day conferencing with prospective investors and customers. In the midst of this busy schedule, they hardly have any time left to take care of their body and well-being.
Here is a useful tip – there will be no time, so make time!!
Lack of exercise is the downside of the ride. Needless to say, it causes severe health issues. While having a busy lifestyle, engaging in some easy yoga stretches will definitely help. For entrepreneurs who are too busy to try yoga, here are some simple yoga poses that can be easily fit into the daily schedule.
Mountain Pose (Tadasana)
Since entrepreneurs spend too much time working on their desks slumped in front of their computer, it is evident that they will suffer from back and shoulder pain. The mountain pose or Tadasana will actually help them to overcome these pains and provide enough exercise to their back and shoulders.
Stand with your back straight and with your legs placed apart. With your heels firmly placed in the ground raise your toes. Loosen up your arms and shoulders and tighten your thighs and knee caps. Inhale deeply while raising your shoulders. Hold your breath for some time and as you relax your shoulders, exhale. You can also raise your arms with your palms facing inwards and parallel to each other. Inhale as you do this and exhale as you go back to the original state.
Forward Bend (Uttanasana)
This yoga stretch is extremely beneficial in relieving the stiffness in the lower back and improving the flexibility and strength of the lower body.
Stand straight and raise your arms. As you bring them down, bend over. Making sure that your back is straight, bend your legs a bit as you move your stomach towards your thighs. Balance yourself by holding your legs with your hands. Hang your head freely.
Upward Facing Dog (Urdhva Mukha Svanasana)
This is a perfect yoga stretch for entrepreneurs who sit slumped over throughout the day. This conditions the back as well as abdominal muscles.
Lie face down on the yoga mat with your legs stretched. Place your arms by your waist such that your forearms form a ninety degree angle with the floor. As you take a deep breath, press your palms on the floor and slowly raise your body from the waist up. Hold this pose for about 15 to 30 seconds and then go back to the original state while exhaling.
Downward Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)
This yoga stretch exercise helps in toning down those abdominal muscles and also exercises the back.
Get down on your hands and knees. Place your palms on the mat, face down and fingers spread apart. Push yourself away from the floor and raise your hips to form an inverted V. Try to keep your legs as straight as possible. Hold this pose for about 20 seconds and then return to the original state.
These are some very common yoga stretches that do not require much time and can be easily added to the daily schedule of an entrepreneur. These would take a maximum of ten minutes but would definitely benefit in the long run.
Go on, incorporate some quick fitness into your lifestyle.
